Modern transportation changed society as we know it, and it makes sense that our main mode of transportation would make its way into popular media. From television series to movies, cars have made plenty of appearances, and some of those cars made such an impact on their viewers that they became instant stars in their own right.

If a film contained any scenes that consisted of a car chase or police action, chances are that the Ford Crown Victoria made an appearance. The car has featured in 755 different movies throughout the years, being the standard police model used for most transportation by the big screen’s law enforcement organisations. The Victoria was the flagship sedan for the Ford model line, and was slotted above the Fort Taurus, being sold exclusively as the ultimate four-door sedan. It was produced across 2 generations, and was later sold as a purpose-build police interceptor car for precincts across the United States.
Chevrolet Impala
Being the iconic brand that it is, Chevrolet has been part of a number of different films, and the Impala remains testament to the fact that Chevrolet has given us some of the best-looking cars of all time. With appearances in 501 movies, which include Raising Arizona, Mas Max, Saturday Night Fever, and Supernatural, and has been rated among the top 50 coolest movie cars ever. The Impala made its debut in 1958, and it became used widely throughout most of the United States.
Chevrolet Caprice
The Chevrolet Caprice is a favourite among moviemakers, and has been seen in such films as Days of Thunder, Point Break, The Dukes of Hazard, Se7evn, and Species. It was a popular car that had been used for more than once decade. The next iteration, which was manufactured between 1967 and 1988, featured a more powerful engine and a new design. It has been continued to this day, with the last modern being released in 2011.
The Ford Mustang
There is no car more iconic in film than the Ford Mustang. Whether it’s a more original or modern design, the Mustang has been in a number of popular movies, including Talladega Nights, I am Legend, Goldfinger, Gone in 60 Seconds, and more. In total, the Mustang has featured in 809 movies throughout the years, and will always remain a well-known legend.
